Target audience:
All clinicians interested in Point of Care Ultrasound
Aims:
– Establish your skills to deliver a comprehensive POCUS study on the critically ill and trauma patient
– Gain competences in the four core domains of POCUS recommended by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine 2021 guidelines
– Practice the RUSH protocol for the shocked patient, including DVT assessment
– Fascia iliac block training
Pre-course learning:
– Learn at your own pace with our comprehensive e-learning module that will be available one month before the course.
Sessions:
– Small teaching groups (max 3 candidates per group) to maximise scanning time with state-of-the-art US machines
– Expert faculty of Consultants in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine and Intensive Care
– 6 hrs of hands-on practice on models, high-tech simulators and clinical scenarios
– Skill stations for peripheral vascular, central vein cannulation and fascia iliaca block practice
Post-course mentorship:
Possibility of hiring a Butterfly IQ probe and enrolling onto remote mentorship (REsUS initiative). Info on https://pocusfrimley.org/
